As we celebrate the joy of Christ’s birth, we recall the words proclaimed by the angel so many years ago: “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all people”, and that includes you and me.
The birth of Christ some 2,000 years ago changed the course of history. It began with the simple yes of a young girl named Mary and the faith of a boy named Joseph. Their faith, their willingness to trust and believe set into motion an unbreakable bond between God and humanity. We celebrate because God’s great act of love restored hope to a fractured world. Our Emmanuel is God’s promise to be with us until the end of time.
After all these years, we still gather to remember, to celebrate God’s presence in our lives. After all the Christmas festivities are over and the decorations are put away, may we continue to celebrate God’s presence in our lives as we together continue our journey of faith.
May God bless you and your loved ones today, tomorrow, and forevermore.
